Sara Fox, Kindergartener

Sara started Kindergarten on Tuesday. This picture just about sums it up on how she feels about going to school. She absolutely LOVED every minute! Momma, on the other hand, had a much harder time! Thank goodness Adam was there to actually say goodbye. All I could do was hug and kiss her so I wouldn't completely loose it in front of Sara and cause her to cry! Anna Kate, who went with us to take Sara to school, asked about 11:15 where Sara was. I think she'll do just fine all be herself for a while! :)
She went for a 'staggered day' from 8:30 - 1:45 on Tuesday and did not stop talking about it until bedtime. She first told me it was 'as fabulous as a princess' which is about as good as it gets to her! Then she said she never thought it would be so much fun! I highly doubt she talked much while at school, but gave us the minute-by-minute play when she got home. The very first thing out of her mouth was "Mom, there is a girl who doesn't speak English. She speaks Spanish and says Ola." ha! Of all things to remember, that made a lasting impression!
Her teacher is most wonderful! Sara has wanted to be in her class since her friend Hannah was in her class last year. We are zoned for a very small school. There are two classrooms of each grade (K-5) with less than 20 kids in each classroom. We love it! This week and next the Kindergarten classes are taking turns coming while both teachers plus the kinder assistant help transition the kids into school. Personally, I love the every other day schedule, but oh well - we will start full time next Thursday.
Tomorrow is another staggered day. Sara is buying her lunch because she was quiet offended the cafetieria offered cheeseburgers on Tuesday and she couldn't have one! She would also like to ride the bus, but for today we take one step at a time! :)
