Hello Blogland... It's been a while ;)
We are thrilled to introduce Charley Jane Fox. She was born Thursday, January 27 at 2:13 p.m. weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 19 inches long. We could not believe how big she was! Sara was 5 lb 9 oz and Anna Kate was 7 lbs 3 oz. so we were quiet surprised when she was over 8 pounds. But, it does explain the fact that I basically spent the last month of my pregnancy on the couch because I was so miserable. :) I kept thinking I was just too old! ha! We also had to invite her to our party :) and be induced on her due date. She was very comfortable where she was unlike her sisters who came 14 and 8 days early. It was very surreal to take the big girls to grandparents and go to the hospital feeling fine for the induction! When she was born, she looked just. like. Sara. It's crazy! We are going to have to date her baby pictures or we will never be able to tell Sara and Charley apart!
We are all so in love with her! Sara is the BEST helper! She loves to hold her, wash her bottles, and for a very special treat hold her standing up. :) She wants so badly to feed her, but understands she'll have to wait just a bit. AK is adjusting. It's HARD to be dethroned. :) Thank goodness she's had the undivided attention of my sweet sisters to help her. She is on her way to doing much better now that I can carry her again. This morning she was so excited when I carried her up the stairs she told me that daddy could now carry Charley, I could carry her and Sara could walk wherever we went.
This is her first picture all cleaned up. I LOVE the hat. Thanks to a very sweet friend from church who is a nurse, she arranged for us to have the best nurse during my labor and delivery. After Charley was born, I asked her if they had the bow hats and she made one for Charley to wear. When we left the hospital, I couldn't find the hat and commented to Adam we should've kept it. Love the fact that he had taken it off of her the night she was born and stuck it in my suitcase so we could keep it! Such a daddy of three girls! ha!
This picture looks just like Sara did at one week. It's also exactly the way I pictured Charley would look! She is the fourth Charley Fox. Adam's dad, grandad, and great-grandad are all named Charlie. When we found out we were expecting, one of the first things Adam said was that he wanted to name this baby Charlie - boy or girl. She will be the last one to carry the Fox name as there are 6 little Fox girls ages 6 and under between Adam's brother and us. So, we knew she would be Charlie. As we got closer to her birth, Adam mentioned wanting to spell her name differently since she is the only Charlie girl. I liked Charleigh, Adam liked Charli, but we both liked Charley. Jane was my mom's middle name and my sisters middle name. All three girls have a form of my mom's name in their middle name so it just fit. We've actually thought about using Jane for all three girls so we wanted to be sure to include it this time.
I cannot believe she is already over two weeks old! We are trying our best to savor each day with our last little one. It goes by way too fast!
