The Maiden Voyage and a trip to the Apple Orchard

The Maiden Voyage...

Adam has wanted a boat since we sold our last one before SK was born! :) He has spent hours on ebay motors looking for the perfect compromise -- a fishing boat that could also be a comfortable family boat. On Saturday he found the ideal boat. Sunday we took the girls to the lake all day. They couldn't have been happier to be on the water, even in lifejackets!

Family Picture before we put the boat in the lake
AK in her lifejacket. She was like a weeble-wooble. She kept falling flat on her back and laughing so hard at herself.
Sara helping Adam drive. Both of the girls loved getting to 'drive.'
AK was not at all afraid of the water. She loved it!
Having a snack at the table.

Adam unhooked AK's top buckle so she could breathe a little. Trying to put it back together kept her entertained for a very long time!

Morning Glory Apple Orchard

On Saturday, while Adam was testing out the boat in KY, we headed to the Apple Orchard with Auntie Judy and Lexi.

Let the apple picking begin!
"Twist and Tug" is how the workers taught the girls to pick apples.
AK was fascinated with the buckles in the wagon.
Love how happy SK is on the ladder. All the books we read before we went showed ladders to pick apples. She was so excited to find one to climb!

Washing the apples. The orchard uses no pesticides, very organic, I know! So, we had the girls wash the apples to get them ready for eating.

We now have a huge bag full of apples. We are going to attempt to make an apple pie this week! :)
