This weekend I got a very rare treat to go to Texas by myself! It was a quick trip but filled with lots of family! On Saturday night, my nephew got married! The wedding was so beautiful and the reception was so, so much fun!
Brooklyn got to be a bridesmaid - she was BEAUTIFUL!
The beautiful bride Krystal and sweet little Aubrey!
Krystal worked so very hard on details and it showed.

Uncle Mark
On Sunday, we celebrated the life of my Uncle Mark. He was my mothers youngest brother and a huge part of my childhood. He went on every vacation with us after my dad died. He drove us to Colorado, pulling a trailer with a Texas flag box he built to haul all of our things, every spring break until I was in 6th grade. He also went with us to Galveston almost every summer. He LOVED life! He loved to golf and fish and was a gifted carpenter. When I was pregnant with Anna Kate I really wanted the Pottery Barn Kids dollhouse bookcase but at the time couldn't imagine spending that much money on a bookcase, so I asked Uncle Mark to make it. I showed him the catalog that had a picture and the dimensions. When Benson delivered it to me in TN, it was beautifully crafted and about 3 times the size of what I thought I was getting! I will forever treasure that bookshelf!
As I think about Uncle Mark, there are some things will forever remind me of him.
*Willie Nelson - he always played Willie or George driving to Colorado. And always On the Road Again to start the trip off.
*Harmonica - He always played the harmonica when we went skiing when all the people would gather to sing in the evenings.
*Bandanna's - It was his trade mark. One year he wrapped all our Christmas presents with them.
*Bellamy Brothers - Redneck Girl.
*Water skiing - He taught me in his red shiny boat how to water ski at age 5!
*Gardening - He was a master vegetable gardener
*Golf - we went on 'Cousins' family reunion weekends every summer growing up. They were most always to golf resorts. He also designed the BEST Cousins shirt ever in 1986 - a spin off of the coke logo with all of our names.
*The couch - Every time Uncle Mark came to visit he slept on the couch- even though there was always a bed.
*I love you - He always, always, always said I Love You when he told you bye. Always.
