Weekend Wrap Up

This was a very busy and fun weekend!  We started by meeting Sara's BFF from Kindergarten and First grade for ice cream Friday afternoon.  Saturday, both girls played soccer at 9.  AK scored another goal!  Sara played her heart out on offensive for the first half and goalie the second half.  Her team lost 1-0, but they played so hard!  Luckily for Adam and I their fields are right next to each other so we stand between them and watch both girls.  {and we are done in 45 minutes :)} After a quick shower, we got dressed up and met up with cousins and friends for a girls' lunch at the Factory followed by the American Girl Fashion Show.  Charley stayed with Boo and Grammie and was SOOOOOO excited.  She waved bye and couldn't wait to play with cousin "Toby" while we were gone.  We ended Saturday night at the school's Fall Festival, where the girls won ribbons for the pumpkins they decorated. AK was 1st in her class and Sara won 2nd in hers.  We were all SO excited! Today, after church, we celebrated GanGan's 90th birthday with all the Hoover family.

 Thanks to Angie, we ate in our own private room at Stoveworks in the Factory.

 Sweet Kindergarten girls - AK, ME and AS - in the BIG rocking chair
AK and AS have the sweetest little friendship they formed while AS's mom and I dropped them in Yplay together often during their pre-k year for us to workout.  They just love each other and have both been known to protest Yplay if the other one wasn't there!

AK and McKenna - the 2012 Girl of the Year
AK wanted this doll so very badly.  She knew Sara and I would be going to the AG store while we were in NYC this summer.  Since this is way more than a typical souvenir, I made a deal with AK that she had to work for her doll.  So, for about 2 weeks leading up to our trip, AK worked hard to earn McKenna!  She folded clothes, dusted, picked up the outside toys, unloaded the dishwasher, got the mail.... Whatever I needed - she did!  :)

When we found out about the fashion show, Sara and AK thought they wanted to audition to be IN the show since they wore the size clothes the models needed to wear.  We talked about it for weeks, then the morning of the auditions I happened to mention that the day of the fashion show there would be LOTS of people watch them walk the runway. The both immediately changed their minds!! After attending the show this weekend, Sara still says she would've been too nervous but AK thinks she will try out if they do it next again next year! {The TX pageant mom in me really hopes they do! ha!}
